First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia Kakhaber Sabanadze and Louisa Vinton the Resident Representative United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) held an online meeting and signed the Memorandum of Understanding.
Within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, the employees of the Patrol Police Unified Service Center will be retrained and will acquire new skills to provide services to citizens.
"The Ministry of Internal Affairs is implementing a reform of the Unified Service Center, the aim is to provide high quality services to citizens on the principle of "one window". In the process of ongoing reform, training for the center's staff is crucial.” - said the First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Kakhaber Sabanadze.
"The police are at the service of citizens, especially during crisis. The main point is that it is equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to provide effective services to people, especially vulnerable groups or people with special needs.” - said Louisa Vinton the Resident Representative United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
The Patrol Police Unified Service Center was established in 2018 and provides citizens with more than 50 services. Under the Memorandum of Understanding, with the support of UNDP, the staff of the Center will be provided with training courses on customer relations, emotion management and the provision of services tailored to the needs of people with disabilities.
In addition, with the help of UNDP, the Joint Service Center will also introduce the International Public Sector Quality Management Mechanism (CAF), which has been used successfully by some 4,500 public agencies in EU countries.
Assistance to the Ministry of Internal Affairs is the part of the project of The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the UK Government's $6 million (5 4.5 million), which serves to promote public governance reform in Georgia and includes of three main areas of reform: Policy development and coordination, human resource management and public service reform, as well as the provision of public services.
